Indian Classical Ace Kathak Dancer NEEHARIKA TUMMALA Her Recent Performance In Manhattan , New York Was Highly Appreciated By Audience & Media

“I began my dance journey in undergrad under Joanna D’Souza, a senior disciple of Pandit Chitresh Das. It was Joanna di, who cultivated my love for Kathak, and developed my form and style. When I moved to India, Seema Mehta, another disciple of Guruji’s continued to be a bridge for my education and exposed me to another facet of Guruji – his evolution in the last 2 decades. When I moved to New York, I was lucky to have Rachna Nivas, fortuitously relocate from San Francisco to New York, where I was able to build on my prior foundation and study this Gharana’s dynamic style, technique and wisdom. During this time, I have also received a lot of love from Rukhmani Mehta, who trained me for readiness to be an apprentice dancer in the company, and from Seibi Lee, who transmitted knowledge during the covid years. No other student in this lineage has been the product of so many elders, who have graciously poured their knowledge into me and have shaped me to become the dancer I am today. I am simply a product of their immense investments into me. With deep gratitude and blessings from the elders in my lineage, I walk into this stage, knowing that I am another link in a beautiful long chain. Manthan, or in my case, Atma Manthan, is the churning of the self, is what my solo journey was. I had to turn within to understand my unique voice, style and what it is that I wanted to say through this medium. I started with an invocation to Goddess Ganga, by Adi Sankaracharya, tuned by Jayanta Banerjee to raag Lalit. I sang the invocation because I wanted the audience to experience Lalit and devi, the way I evoked it. The haunting, yet peaceful melody beautifully showcased elements of our traditional rangmanch, re-imagined for Ganga. I proceeded to Teentaal Thaat, where I slowly opened the raag through poses and improvisation and moved through vilambit, madhya and dhrut compositions. Thaat was deeply supported by Satyaprakash Misra on Tabla, who gave sangati where needed but also gave me ample space to play. The audience specifically spoke about how they loved our upaj and that the thaat was exciting because they didn’t know where it would go next. My next piece was a traditional gat bhao, the story of Govardhan Giri, where the villagers of Vrindavan seek sharagati from Krishna from Indra’s storm. Gat Bhao immersed...

Crowned Mrs Earth International 2025: Vidhu Ishiqa Stuns In A Handmade Jungle-Themed National Costume

When Vidhu Ishiqa was crowned Mrs Earth International 2025 in Orlando, Florida, it wasn’t just her powerful walk or eloquent answers that stole the spotlight — it was also her unforgettable national costume, a true homage to Mother Earth that turned heads and touched hearts. At the grand stage of Mrs Earth International 2025, Vidhu Ishiqa didn’t just walk in a costume — she walked in a story. Representing the power and serenity of Mother Earth, her jungle-themed national costume was a true celebration of nature, sustainability, and sisterhood. What made the costume even more special was its origin — it was entirely handmade at home, with no big designers involved. Vidhu, along with her close-knit group of girlfriends, spent over six weeks putting it together. Every flower was hand-placed, every fitting was done at home, and every detail was the result of deep thought and collaboration. Her dear friend Shweta played a major role in bringing the vision to life, helping with fittings and the intricate floral arrangements. The costume, predominantly green, was designed to reflect nature in its purest form. From the upcycled corset to the handcrafted cape, every element was rooted in sustainability. A striking snake headpiece symbolized the fierce and untamed side of nature, while floral elements like petunias (South Africa’s national flower) and the lotus (India’s national flower) were included to honour both countries close to Vidhu’s heart. “It was important for me to represent both India and South Africa. These two lands have shaped who I am,” Vidhu shared during an interaction. The symbolism was rich and meaningful, and the result was breathtaking. Judges and audiences alike were stunned by the visual impact and the originality of the look. Beyond aesthetics, the costume carried a deeper message. “A queen is never made alone,” Vidhu says. “This dress is proof that you need a big dream and the right people around you to shine.” Her national costume became one of the highlights of the pageant — not just for its visual appeal, but for the powerful story it told. It captured everything Vidhu Ishiqa stands for: creativity, sustainability, culture, and a deep connection to her roots and community. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cJTu1R5MDSU   Crowned Mrs Earth International 2025: Vidhu Ishiqa Stuns In A Handmade Jungle-Themed National...

Heartfelt Screening Of TANVI THE GREAT For Special Children Hosted By Multiverse Entertainment, Led By Nidarshana Gowani

Mumbai, July 24, 2025: In a powerful blend of empathy and entertainment, Multiverse Entertainment, founded by Mrs. Nidarshana Gowani, hosted a special screening of the film Tanvi The Great for underprivileged and autistic children at PVR Versova, Andheri. The event marked a full house, with children laughing, cheering, and immersing themselves in a story that resonated with hope, courage, and representation. This initiative — the second such screening by Multiverse Entertainment — reinforces the platform’s mission to use cinema as a tool for social impact. Mrs. Gowani, who also serves as the trustee of the Kamla Ankibai Ghamandiram Gowani Trust, shared her deep sense of fulfilment: “Multiverse was born to entertain with purpose. If we can offer children — especially those who are often excluded — a moment of joy, a sense of belonging, and the magic of the big screen, then we are truly rising by lifting others.” The event was graced by veteran actor and director Anupam Kher, who plays a pivotal role in the film. Addressing the audience, he revealed a deeply personal connection: “This story is inspired by my niece, who is on the autism spectrum. Her strength moved me to create Tanvi The Great. Today wasn’t just a screening — it was a celebration of uniqueness, courage, and visibility.” He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the children’s reactions, calling it “one of the most rewarding moments” of his journey as an artist. Joining him were actress Shubhangi Dutt and writer Abhishek Dixit, who also engaged with the children, making the experience even more memorable. The screening highlighted the potential of inclusive entertainment — one that uplifts, engages, and transforms. For many of the children, this was their very first experience inside a theatre — made special by the presence of cinematic voices who believe in stories that matter.
