Minister of Child and Women Development, Shri. Krishna Tirath, of the UPA government, had put forward a proposal of working husbands in 2012 to provide a portion of their salary to their spouses who are housewives. From then on, many discussions have been taking place, voting for and against this. In January 2021, the honorable Supreme Court mentioned that housewives’ value of household work must not be considered any less than the work done by their employed husbands. The Sharjah-based Aries Group has now made this point practical by declaring to provide a salary to their employees’ housewives.
